LibraryThing - 4 comments
If you haven't heard of LibraryThing, it provides an easy way to catalogue a book collection online. The seemingly tedious task of listing your books actually becomes a pleasure, and the more books you add, the more relationships - books shared, favourite authors discovered, and so on - you discover with other people.
I knew a few B4L-ers were already registered, so the obvious next step (so obvious, it took me over a year to take it) was to set up a Bloggers4Labour group to organise us. It's easy to join, so why not do so, if only to see what we have in common?
You can submit up to 200 books for free. Beyond that, the fee is $10/year, or $25 for life.
Labels: books

so, its kinda like facebook only with a purpose? hmm, I don't know if I like that.....
and I don't know what will happen to my level of kewlness if I admit in public to logging my books and books I've read. ;-)
but I've joined anyway, now all I have to do is figure out how to join the B4L group on there. [confused]
I've sent you an invite - don't know if you get an email, etc. but the message should show up on your profile page.
Aside from using a Gordon Brown icon, I wouldn't worry about kewlness, as it's just interesting to see what people have, whether high- or low-brow. People don't have to indicate what they've read if they don't want to.
okay, I found the invite (thanks) and am now in the group. I even added a few of the books currently scattered around my room. unfortunately, most of them are in storage oop nawf until I get around to building my own house, complete with library, so I'll add more later when I can be bothered finding out which copies of various books I have. my utter geekiness is now confessed...
...and with that I should invite you to the wonders of www.last.fm where your music listening tastes will be known by the whole world (but only if you link with them).
I don't know if the world is ready for my Last.fm profile yet, but I'll pass it on...
