Gays blamed for Israel's war failure - 2 comments
Via Pub Philosopher:
Writing in the New Statesman last summer, Gideon Lichfield blamed Israel's failure to defeatPerhaps not too surprisingly this is an issue that has united local Jewish, Christian, and Muslim bigots in opposition.HamasHizbollah on the Israeli Army's poor equipment and lack of preparation for war. A number of people agree with him including an army colonel.
The Haredim, Israel's ultra orthodox Jews, have a simpler explanation; it was God's punishment for Israel's tolerant attitude to homosexuality. When you think about it, it's obvious. The war in Lebanon broke out on the same day that Jerusalem's Gay Pride march was announced and God is bound to favour those who would stone the sodomites to death over a nation that lets them parade in the streets.
Who said inter-faith dialogue was a waste of time? Everyone knows it's the moderates, the neutrals, the liberals, the atheists, and the people who exercise their democratic rights who cause all the trouble.
Update: It was, of course, Hizbollah that Israel was fighting, not Hamas. Thanks, PP.

Just goes to show, the extremes of different religions are very similar in ideology.
B4L - it was Hezbollah not Hamas that Israel was fighting in Lebanon.
I was a bit hung over on Saturday so I didn't spot that howling error until Sunday. I've corrected my post so you can either change yours or leave it there as a reminder of what happens when Pub Philosopher blogs after a night on the ale.
