Hello, Cllr Moulton - 11 comments
Shocked - and woken from my 6-day-a-week blogging slumber - to discover that a former schoolchum of mine (well, it has been about 14 years) is a Councillor in my old stamping ground of Southampton, where Labour currently stand as the smallest of the three main parties in a City we ran from (if I recall) 1988-2000.
I won't tell you yet which party he represents - you have to guess:

You guessed it. Yes, Cllr Jeremy Moulton is one of three Conservative members for Freemantle ward. He even has a blog. What's more, he's up for re-election in two days.
I thought I might have a tough time persuading people to vote Labour on Thursday, but I never imagined how easy it would be!
I will post again before the big day.

So you're predicting Labour gains on Thursday then?
Are you always on?
Actually I'm prepared to bet *real money* that Labour will make at least one gain on Thursday, even if hundreds are lost. I certainly won't be gloating either way.
What is *real money*? Are you the nice man to offer *real money* to for a peerage? I have the brown envelopes.
I looked at his site. He posts under his own name. He doesn't claim to be a collection of bloggers for his party. Unlike some. One to watch, I fear.
Odd comment...
I mean *real money* as in "let's play Snap for pennies, not matchsticks". Well, a fiver would be more fun.
When two people post at B4L, I will post and comment as "Andrew @ B4L"; until then, "Bloggers4Labour" remains my (current) blogging moniker. Can't think of any exact precedent, but I, for example, don't think you're backward just because of your name. And I undeniably provide certain services that are of use to Labour-supporting bloggers.
One to watch? Well, I haven't said anything unpleasant and won't now, but if Freemantle's the bit of town I think it is, he's probably fairly secure there. Dreadful place.

fraid so. keeping up to speed with labour sleaze is a full time job these days.
If it wasn't a sunny day I wouldn't have approved that pointless comment. Tut.
Old schoolchum eh? What kind of school would that have been then? Public or state? Let me guess...
Life mainly consisted of punting down the Thames, eating crumpets toasted on long forks, and putting 11 year-olds through degrading initiation rites. I'm merely Labour, not having either spied for the Communists, or established a sinister right-wing economic think tank.
"I'm merely Labour, not having either spied for the Communists, or established a sinister right-wing economic think tank."
What about that Euston Manifesto Group then, eh? eh?!
Ha, yes. It's not really economic though - I'd characterise it more as preparing the ground for a neocon World Government, operating from a mile-high tower set in the middle of the Atlantic, with a silver-haired Tony Blair as High Chancellor.
I'm surprised more bloggers haven't picked up on this.
