David Cameron - 7 comments

So he won - what a surprise. According to David Davis, the leadership race "had made the party look thoughtful and mature". Well, seven months of silent introspection and complete detachment from the rough and tumble of day-to-day politics does give that impression, doesn't it?

Now the Conservatives might have chosen some pretty bum leaders of late, but they hardly had a bumper crop to choose from. They've sensibly chosen someone who at least looks like a winner, and who seems to offer the prospect of putting up a fight.

Crucial differences between Cameron and Thatcher.

Some news-hounds have been desperately looking around to build up a picture of what Cameron stands for, other than being a bit posh, and the BBC offer a glimpse. The Pub Philosopher is distinctly underwhelmed by the whole thing, and Neil's article is the most in-depth assessment I've come across, so far. Unfortunately a number of the negatives Neil cites seem to me to be positives:
So, if you disliked Blair mainly because of his decision on the Iraq War. Remember that David Cameron made exactly the same decision and backed the war. He justified it by saying we can't let George Bush down. David Cameron also supports Student Top-Up Fees, Foundation Hospitals and Private Finance Initiatives.
Except the George Bush bit, obviously. So perhaps I should wait for someone to really stick it to Cameron, or else do my own research for once. Think I'll trawl the conservative blogs tonight to see if anything more than the scent of power is getting them going.

Meanwhile, Tom at lets be sensible gives our own Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP a thumbs-up. Could he (Benn, that is) ease into Tony Blair's carpet slippers when the time comes, slamming the door of Number Ten in Gordon Brown's face?

Ah yes, Hilary Benn - I had similar thoughts about his prospects last night whilst watching Question Time. He has the attractive bits of his father - warm, sincere and likeable, but unlike his dad he's in the political mainstream.

Don't get so high & mighty Labour after you check out this blog link & how the Renfrewshire Paisley labour Council use private firms like Ttag, to waste money on scaffoldings & no work being done while paying more for it.

The ones in my street have been up nearly 4 months, I've contacted councelors & yet It's still there unused at a cost of at leats £50 a day to the council tax payers.

The building repairs never get fixed. The close doors remain broken as junkies us the landings to take drugs & the council office to the tune of millions & less than a mill away get a face life & we get letf out.

Your all garbage & freemasons out for your selfs & cameron who has the same name as me is a fraud just like labour are war criminals and on the make while taking Jewish money to fund there causes,

While ignoring the UK peoples needs while turning your heads ti Isreals war crimes & murders agaist it's neighbours, who you call terrorists.
